The Founder’s Macramé Story

Twelve years ago, I was still a high school student. My first time making macramé was to make a birthday gift for the guy I had a crush on back then—looking back now, it’s been so many years already. From that time until I graduated college, I kept making more and more macramé, and got better and better at it. I helped a lot of classmates make gifts too: sometimes I charged a little, sometimes I just helped for free.
The second year after graduation, I opened my own macramé studio, and now we even have a second location (the video below is from way back when, showing my first small shop). That’s how my journey with handcrafted macramé started. Now our team has also launched an online store—AstralKnots.art.

What We Stand For

Over the years running our physical shops, many customers have come to us with their treasured pendants: some are gold, some are unique pieces of wood, some are beautiful stones, and others are little items that hold special memories for them. They want us to make a macramé cord so they can keep these important things with them, or give them to someone special in their lives—that’s what I think makes what we do meaningful.
No matter how our business grows, there’s one principle we’ll never change: every order is handcrafted by us. We never use machines for any part of the process, and we take care with every thread—no cutting corners. Plus, we only start making a piece after we get your order (this means processing times are a bit longer, and we hope you understand that).

Our Team & Designs

Everyone on the AstralKnots team is someone I met through the macramé community over the years. I only brought people on board if I thought their designs, creativity, and skills were solid—and if we trusted each other. When a group of people who love macramé work and brainstorm together, we often come up with unique macramé techniques and designs. We love sharing these new ideas with everyone too.

What We Do at AstralKnots.art

First, we share the macramé pieces we’ve designed here—if you like one, you can just buy it right here. Second, if you want to learn how to make macramé bracelets or necklaces yourself, I’ll create step-by-step courses, and you can learn right here on the site.
